Seattle drivers are so polite, or at least that’s what they think anyway. Check this guy out. He has a green light and yet there’s plenty of room to pull up without blocking the intersection. I need to start driving around with a video camera because what you can’t see from this photo is all the cars making a right on red and filling up the gap. Meanwhile, there are a number of cars behind him that will now have to wait for another green light because of all the cars that he let in front of him.
It’s hard to imagine what could be worse than a Seattle driver but if you’ve lived here for any length of time then I’m sure you’ll agree that truckers and bicyclists fall into this distinguished category. After all, chances are they’re also your typical Seattle driver when they’re not playing truck driver or Lance Armstrong. When it comes to school zones and constructions zones, I don’t take any chances. I don’t need a sign or blinking light to tell me when to slow down. If there are children present, I’m maxed out a 20mph and even slower when children are around. The same goes for workers in construction zones. In other words, I do the right thing and then some. This is why I find it so irritating when some idiot starts waving their hands frantically telling me to slow down when I’m driving at a safe speed. The worst
